Profit Analyser Portal
The Farmanco Profit Series is one of Farmanco’s most successful and longest running publications, now in its 21st year in its current format. The Profit Series is a financial and production performance benchmarking tool, highlighting opportunities for businesses across Australia to measure and compare themselves against the top performing farms, with similar constraints (for example: rainfall or capital).
If you ask yourself these types of questions about your business, then you will find value in the Profit Series:
- How does my farm business compare to the best performing and average farms in my state, rainfall zone and shire?
- Does my high yield end up ‘less profitable’, because I spend too much?
- Can changing my enterprise mix improve my profitability?
- How does the profitability of my livestock enterprise compare to others?
- Should I target a higher lambing percentage, or more lambs per hectare?
- How does my business risk profile compare to other farm businesses?
The level of detail in the Farmanco Profit Series is second to none and gives you the ability to focus on the areas of your business that will give you the best return. With the challenges in the current farming environment, you don’t want your business to just keep up; you should challenge yourself to make it the best it can be.
Trends across all facets of the Farm Business
The Profit Series can identify possible trends across all facets of the farm business, at an individual farm level, as well as across all data sets and then present this information in an ‘easy to use’ way. This allows more insightful data‑querying to be achieved, at both the macro level (state, geographic zone or shire) and at the micro level (through enterprise analysis) to answer the questions: “Why have my business and enterprises achieved the results they have, when the best performers achieve better results?” and “If I am the best performer, how much further can I push the boundaries?”.
In order to help you answer these questions, Farmanco continually develops the Profit Series. Over the past two years, with improvements in technology, we have upgraded our technical infrastructure to handle far more data in a more secure environment. As part of this upgrade, we have released the Profit Analyser Portal. This guides clients who don’t currently use a Farmanco management consultant through the process of organising their data, on their own, into the Profit Series. They can then see how their individual production and financial results compare against the best in the business. For potential users outside of Farmanco who are not confident or who are unable to enter their data into the Profit Analyser Portal, we have a number of help options including assistance from a Project Officer, through to a Management Consultant.
Benchmarking data collected from outside of the Farmanco client-base
We also gather data from service providers outside of Farmanco, such as Accountants, Banks, Agronomists and other Consultants, who see the value in including their clients in the only independent, national, Agricultural Benchmarking Service. Farmanco is exploring opportunities to extend the service to international clients.
There are currently two versions of the Farmanco Profit Series:
