Independent Spray Water Volumes Report – Project Series 2
Spray Water Volumes: Why we use different spray water volumes for various spray situations
Achieving good spray coverage is a balance between using enough water and maximising the hectares sprayed in a day. Bill Campbell helps the boomspray user understand what determines water volumes to use. He discusses droplet numbers and size, how to balance good coverage and minimise droplet drift, and the importance of correct boom setup and operation.
Also discussed are specific application situations, including very small grass targets – stubble and fungicide and foliar work – as well as the use of water sensitive paper to assess spray coverage.
