Every year there is the build-up. Pre-Christmas, the Farmanco administration team get their heads around planning and preparation to support our Management Consultants through their busiest time of the year. These are the unsung heroes of Farmanco – not giving advice or bringing in the income – but supporting, communicating with clients, preparing reports and maintaining calendars. Pulling their hair out, concerned for the well being of the team and working to present Farmanco in the best possible light.
Meet our Farmanco Administration Team!
Melissa Henning – Mundaring Office
Mel is the only full-time support staff in Farmanco. Her main role throughout the year is Accounts Manager, but she also provides admin support to Laurence Carslake, David Ward and Mark Lawrence, which peaks during the farm review season of December to April each year.
As Accounts Manager, Mel is responsible for invoicing for most of our professionals and for monitoring and following up all outstanding invoices. She reports directly to Tracy Jones (Chief Finance Officer) and Keith Symondson (CEO).
Mel has worked with Farmanco since May 2016.
Outside of Farmanco Mel keeps busy with hockey, still playing herself and watching her three boys play many games across a weekend
Jo Smallacombe – Mundaring Office
Jo has worked for Farmanco for the past five years, currently working in a part time capacity Monday to Wednesday on return from maternity leave and provides support to all staff.
Along with Cassandra out of Esperance, Jo is one of our team members with a gift for design and is responsible for the presentation of many of our marketing displays and materials.
Jo also works with Jane Packard and Trish to edit and update the Farmanco website, along with ensuring the Farmanco App remains current.
Jo’s passions outside of work include spending quality time with her son Hudson and family. She is a proud supporter of the Fremantle Dockers and enjoys playing Roller Hockey.
Faye Rorke – Mundaring Office
Faye works Wednesday to Friday and job shares with Jo and although they both undertake different duties in their roles, they both support all Farmanco staff.
A large part of Faye’s role is to initiate, design and edit our monthly Farmanco Facts and communicate with all staff to ensure the newsletter is informative and factual. Another part of her role has been to research and implement cost saving measures within Farmanco, a challenge she enjoys.
Faye came from an administration background in the WA Education Department and has worked at Farmanco since December 2016, when Jo went on maternity leave. She loves time in the garden, raising orphan native animals, travelling and making the most of what life has to offer.
Cassandra Mansell – Esperance Office
Cassandra works Monday to Wednesday – and as required – with Ben Curtis at Esperance.
Cass tends to be the ‘go to’ girl for all matters regarding design with our publications. She has worked closely with the Management Team on publication of our Profit Series.
Cass has a great eye for detail and is a friendly although strong and quiet member of the team. She is a great support to anyone who needs extra help.
Outside of work Cass loves her animals!
Tracy Jones – Dowerin Office
Tracy works Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and any additional time required due to her involvement with the Farmanco Board and Farmanco Principal meetings. Tracy has worked with Farmanco since 2010.
Tracy’s role is Finance Manager (which involves all BAS and tax management) PA to the Board and Principals and providing Reckon training and software support to the admin team and consultants. Tracy is mainly based in Dowerin, but works from the Mundaring office on a regular basis.
Outside of Farmanco, Tracy and her husband Ash run the family farm at Ejanding. She is also very passionate about her hockey! Tracy and Ash like to travel to Perth when possible on weekends to catch up with their four boys who are at boarding school and support them with their cricket, football and hockey.
Trish Nankivell – Albury Office
Trish has worked with Farmanco (often in an unofficial capacity) for quite a while. 2018 being her 19th review season!
She began working with Farmanco when Eric Nankivell moved to Narrogin to open a Farmanco office and for nine years was the Admin Support / PA at Narrogin. During that time, Trish also co-edited the monthly newsletter ‘Farmanco Facts’ with one of the consultants; usually the newest one!
In 2007 with a move to Esperance and a well-established administrative staff there, Trish backed off into a support role that meant review season, usually while working full-time outside of Farmanco.
In 2015 and with the move to Albury, Trish has again become more involved with Farmanco as the support staff at Albury. During this time, she has become a member of the website editorial team, including writing stories for the news page and also the Pestbook editorial team, with our Agronomists. But as a casual staff member, Trish’s main role is to support Eric and Tim at Albury and during review season, Ben at Esperance.
Outside of Farmanco, Trish volunteers at Vision Australia radio as a reader and panel technician. She enjoys movies, reading and writing. Her kids are all in Perth, but luckily with today’s technology Trish is in touch with them almost every day.
We all hope you enjoyed this introduction to our administrative support staff. After our October staff conference, perhaps we can share a photo of the entire Farmanco team, because at the moment, we have nothing!
