Jane Packard joined Farmanco in May 2007, and her work focuses on grain marketing. Jane's clients are based throughout the central wheatbelt, the great southern, and south east to Esperance. Jane has worked in the area of grain marketing for 7 years based in the eastern wheatbelt (Merredin). Jane is now located in Busselton.
Qualifications & Professional Affiliations
- Bachelor of Agribusiness (Marketing), Curtin University of Technology.
- Partial Completion of an Associate Diploma in Financial Services - compliance component allowing provision of advice to clients on grain derivatives.
Skills, Expertise & Interests
Consulting (Grain Marketing)
- Constructs marketing plans for the main grains being produced.
- Provide recommendations for the implementation of the marketing plan. This may include the use of OTC products or forward cash contracts.
- Provide relevant market information to assist clients in their marketing decisions.
- Monitor client positions.
- Provide weekly grain marketing comments in the form of the ‘Grains Weekly' Newsletter.
- Calculate load valuations and assist in allocation of these loads between pools and contracts to maximise overall crop value (in particular wheat).
Jane is also a Authorised Representative (No: 289658) of Plum Grove Pty Ltd trading as Plum Grove Commodity Trading Solutions who hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (No: 231163). Under this authorisation she is permitted to provide financial advice in a limited range of financial products, including grain derivatives and foreign exchange contracts.

Interests

Previous Employment & Experience
2004 - 2007 Regional Manger, GrainPool Pty Ltd
Managing both grain accumulation and client services in the eastern wheatbelt. This role encompassed the accumulation of all grain types, with a focus on new wheat products and services being offered by AgraCorp.
2001 - 2004 Grain Marketer, AWB Ltd
This was the start of Jane's marketing experience. The job involved maintaining and achieving wheat accumulation in the eastern wheatbelt. It was also the time that she attained compliance with changes to Financial Services legislation made during that time.
1999 - 2001 Development Office, WA Department of Agriculture
